In The Head of a Ballerina

A short film between documentary and atmospheric artwork.

Arnaud Uyttenhove, author of documentary Somewhere to Disappear (2011) (dedicated to photographer Alec Soth), found himself attracted by the universe of dance and the historical buildings of the Opéra national de Paris. He wanted to portray Laura Bachman, a young ballerina of the Ballet de l’Opéra, whose first name has been given to the title of this short movie. Laura is in conflict with herself and wonders her future of classical dancer. She would like to chose on her own what she is going to dance and become more creative as the strict walls of the Opéra don’t allow her to. She decides to leave and fly, on a music by Koudlam, after a last transcendant ballet. A production Caviar Paris to watch.
