Juho Könkkölä spent more than 50 hours working and folding a single sheet of Wenzhou rice paper to create this meticulously detailed samurai with his plated armor, traditional helmet and sword. Starting with a 95 x 95 cm page, the 23-year-old Finnish artist used a combination of wet and dry origami techniques to shape the 28 cm high warrior. “The asymmetry of the design allowed me to include the sword on only one arm while being able to make the figure appear symmetrical”.
