The New York artist Ruby Silvious transforms thin paper pouches containing tea, her favorite drink, into beautiful miniature canvases. Sometimes tied or torn to remove the leaves, Silvious’s pouches depict the calm and simple moments of everyday life: passers-by walking in the snow, little cats, faces… The artist usually keeps the string and label attached, allowing the pouch to match its origin and recalling its primary function.

After the release of Reclaimed Canvas in 2019, Silvious is working on another book and preparing for upcoming solo exhibitions in France, Germany and Japan. You can follow her on Instagram for more soothing work.
