Daniel Boddam, Australian designer, has imagined a Parisian apartment of the future. His virtual showroom ‘Paris Appartment’ interprets the interior of a Haussmann-style apartment in a contemporary way, bringing to it the warmth, functionalism and minimalism of contemporary design.
For this project of an online store of the future, he used CGI technology to create an interactive virtual showcase that could facilitate the shopping experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to Avo Studios’ 3D visualizations, the virtual space demonstrates the power of creativity when it is constrained. The project is inspired by French artist Matisse’s proclamation, “I’m going to make my own swimming pool”, when he was faced with travel restrictions due to illness. “The Virtual Parisian Apartment project has a similar ambition, to create an environment that encourages connection and travel through creativity,” explains the designer.
