The Frank Gehry Luma Arles Tower in Arles looks like comes straight from the future. Covered with an aluminium shell and glass boxes, its design is impressive!

Photos from Vincent Hecht reveal the magnificent 56-meters high twisted tower before its opening.
The facade covered with 11,000 irregularly arranged aluminium panels gives a hybrid character to the stone building used as a base.

Designed by Frank Gehry, the tower became the centerpiece of Luma Arles, an art center created by Swiss collector Maja Hoffmann.

Described as a “tornado of stainless steel”, the design of the tower was intended to evoke the steep limestone cliffs that surround the city and for which it is known. The cylindrical base refers to the Roman amphitheatre of Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
