Distorting reality by combining two mediums is what Bulgarian designer Mariyan Atanasov, passionate about photography, experiences. The “Urban Tetris II” series is the second he created around the configuration of the famous block game. His urban exploration work begins with the quest for concrete buildings that make up the majority of his city, Sofia. He photographs them for their minimalist and geometric appearance in search of the most interesting color combinations, structures and ornaments. In post-production, he breaks them down like a puzzle to recreate new shapes like a Tetris.
