In the Belgian province of Limburg, a portion of the cycle route network enables tourists to pedal through water. It’s in Bokrijk that Visit Limburg took the initiative to create this unique 212-meter long track which offers breathtaking view on the De Wijers natural area. This innovative project, intended to keep the region’s attractiveness, was entrusted to the architectural firm Lens ° Ass Architects. Achieved since 2016, the cycle path has already welcomed more than 500,000 tourists. In 2018, Time magazine even put “Cycling through Water” on the map of the 100 greatest places in the world.
