Fubiz has already covered the work of Bali-based architect, Alexis Dornier, before, but this time he has one-up’d even herself. The architect has designed a collection of stilted treehouses in the hills of Bali that combine a tropical environment with industrial-like style.

Built for the LIFT Treetop Boutique Hotel, her structures feature a thatched roof that sit atop structurally-sound steel frames.

What started as an experiment has transformed into a ground-breaking, innovative, more-sustainable style of real estate. It is not only cost-effective, but also leaves a minimal footprint on the precious environment in Bali.

The treehouses blend into the environment with spiral staircases and metal stilts. Each has a bedroom and ensuite facilities with a balcony and large windows featuring views of the surrounding jungle. Some even feature a rooftop terrace.
