Based in London, Yuta Segawa is a ceramic artist specializing in the production of miniature pottery. Born in Japan, he acquired his advanced execution capabilities in China and in his home country. Today, for his small porcelain creations, we find the founder of SGW Lab. Incredibly precise, the colorful pottery hold in the palm of the hand. Each of her miniatures received the same attention that would have been given to a normal size ceramic. The enamels used are created by Yuta Segawa himself, he has no less than 500 to his credit. The way he places his different pieces on the photographs gives an even more impressive side to the final result. For him, miniature pottery relates to the question of the relationship between the body of artists and their works. So, his job is: “a challenge to test the limits of what a human body can make on such a small scale”, he says.
