After over than two years of work, the firm NEUF architect(e)s announces the end of major renovations for this architectural jewel located on one of Montreal’s most famous streets.

«Designed by renowned Montreal architect Edward Maxwell, the building underwent numerous modifications and alterations over the years, leading to poor conditions that threatened its preservation. Visionary hotelier Jean Salette purchased the building in 2016 and lead a team of professionals to help realize an ambitious project, one he dreamt of for nearly 20 years: to transform and restore this historic building into a luxurious boutique hotel that included an elegant French brasserie, all while preserving its original prestige and the celebrated Birks jewelry store», we can read in the press release.

For the sake of conservation and durability, the shop windows on the ground floor have been restored to their original dimensions, the old columns and plasters have also been rehabilitated. This heritage building, a witness to Montreal’s history and the effervescent St. Catherine Street, radiates again.
