The Amorepacific Headquarters was designed with the aim to create a distinct identity that stands out in the urban landscape of Seoul, South Korea. David Chipperfield Architects got creative with its rectangular shape by leaving large sections open on each side, and by producing a hollow core in its interior. Located at ground level is the heart of the building: a space dedicated to art, concerts and other cultural activities via an auditorium, an amphitheater, a conference center and a tree-filled atrium. The floor above this serves as a social hub for the workplace, with amenities including cafes, fitness centres and restaurants, while the rest of the building floors are dedicated to office use. Roof gardens are visible from all sides, and the panoramic openings offer stunning views of the city.
