This astronomical observatory looking like a concrete insect was designed by Takasaki Masaharu, well-known for his architectural genius. Built in 1995 in the south-east of Japan, in the city of Kagoshima, this building sould have had a role as an astronomical observatory. The red small structures below the concrete monster were anticipated as laboratory for scientists. But no scientist wanted to come in this isolate area. Now the construction is known for its original shape and is frequently visited by tourists.
