Zaha Hadid‘s architectural firm has responded perfectly to the Antwerp Port House’s offer, preserving heritage by adding modernity and creating an emblem for the city. The new volume floats on the historic building, preserving all facades. Its ship’s bow shape evokes maritime activity, while its shimmering facets pay tribute to the diamond merchants who, over the years, have established the prosperity of the Flemish city, which has become the second largest port on a European scale.

The price of the best rehabilitation of the MIPIM real estate fair went to Zaha Hadid for the Antwerp Harbor House.
