Suspended above the escalators of Sydney’s Wynyard Station is Interloop by artist Chris Fox, a breathtaking sculptural installation of the 1931 historic timber escalators which commuters have used for decades. Its twisting shape is made of 244 wooden treads spans more than 50 meters and weighs over 5 tonnes. Fox pays tribute to the iconic escalator by turning it into a work of art, a reminder of the past in a contemporary fashion. See more of Fox’s work here and on Instagram.
