Zaha Hadid believed in progress and in future. She was optimist and her design has always expressed a fervent desire of breaking codes, but always with harmony and poetry. Three months before she died in March 2016, she started to work on the Brit Awards 2017 statuette. This object is a true manifesto of designer’s work, it completely fits with Hadid’s aspirations. Brit Awards chairman Jason Iley said: “Like Zaha, they are [the statues] innovative and original and have gone well beyond our expectations to create something special that will progress the award into the future.” This award will undeniably assume a particular value this year, a sort of Zaha Hadid’s legacy to the best artists of tomorrow.
