Onde Elles Moran (Where They Live) is a very beautiful series of books’ sculptures and covers’ illustrations, imagined by artist Guy Laramée. He uses secondhand books to paint on the cover of each book birds from Serra do Corvo Branco (Range of the White Raven), a Brazil’s region. On the opposite side of the cover, he carves pages in the shape of their natural habitat places. Different kinds of birds are represented and different types of mountains and landscapes, always with realism and details. He drew his inspiration from Japanese artist Kitagawa Utamaro who used to draw birds to symbolize the various aspects of a romantic relationship.
