For their recent show in Paris, the two Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf have turned classical and framed paintings into a baroque dresses and tunics collection for women. These angular and architectural dresses are inspired by the Golden Age of Dutch painting, namely the 17th century. Behind this concept, there is the ambition of “wearing art”, like an outfit. The model becomes an artwork herself and is used as an exhibition gallery for canvas.
