Cameroonian artist Pascale Marthine Tayou grew a colorful tree made of plastic bags on a wall, for the Art Basel Unlimited 2015 event. Her installation Plastic Tree takes in relief a whole white wall of the Italian gallery Continua located in San Gimignano ; it presents tree branches on which he put bags instead of leaves. Through this artwork, he wanted to symbolize, in a visual way, the bad effects of consumption and pollution on environment, by proving that plastic can be used as a noble artistic medium and can be easily integrated in natural elements.
