“Arya” is the first single from I know NIGO, the first solo album by the Japanese producer and founder of Bape for 16 years. After more than ten years of absence from the studio, Nigo is back. The Japanese has always been a designer first, but he has delivered a series of albums in the first decade of the new millennium, both on his own and with his Yokohama rap group, Teriyaki Boyz. Nigo’s beat and A$AP’s lyrics take us back to the late 1980s, when hip hop had a simplicity and spontaneity that is somewhat lost today.
