Richard Russell, the founder XL Recordings, started a wonderful project. In the XL studio in London, he started inviting artists from the labels to share ideas, music, and jam. This project, titled “Everything Is Recorded” gave birth to an EP called “Close But Not Quite”. Through five songs beautifully produced, the EP shows the meeting between up and coming artists, and more established ones such as Sampha, Syd, Ibeyi, and even Curtis Mayfield. This music video made for the eponym song is magical and shows a lot of the process. Wonderful.
