
Beyoncé announced the release of his visual album Black is King for July 31st on Disney + whose trailer is available here. The star covers the Lion King’s song “The Gift” “for the young kings and queens of today, looking for their own crowns”. According to Parkwood Entertainment production studios, this is an artistic approach to celebrate the memory and experience of black people with the whole world. Guests of honour were invited to participate: Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, William Pharrell and Jay-Z. In a key moment for anti-racist struggles, Beyoncé continues to assert his status as a musical and political icon.
