Tower Records was one of the most famous American retail music in the US. Founded in 1960 by Russ Solomo, it files for bankruptcy and liquidation in 2006, that causes the selling points closings. The firm is today only an online retailer.
A documentary entitled All Things Must Pass: The Rise and Fall of Tower Records, directed by Colin Hanks, tells the history of the chain.
