This high tech building, titled “The Digital Beijing Building”, is a comprehensive information facility for the Beijing 2008 Olympics. The building will provide communication and information services and guarantee information security during the Olympic Games.
The building embodies the concepts of “Green Olympics,” “High-Tech Olympics,” and “People’s Olympics.” To protect the environment, it used such materials and technologies as the fair-faced concrete and outdoor ERP grid. Its glass curtain wall can reduce thermal conduction and its LED lighting system can save as much as 60 percent of energy. The building also has a rainwater collection mechanism.
