Brisbane-born, Berlin-based artist Karla Marchesi’s last series « Sugar Fever Dream » offers very colorful pieces with an effusion of natural elements giving a sense of abundance to the viewer. « With an air of affirmative nihilism and a playful aesthetic of excess, Sugar Fever Dream is a counter vision to Western thought at the height of anthropocentrism ». Her visual arts practice explores relationships forged with domestic objects and spaces, and how the aesthetic depiction of these establishes subliminal connections to past places, rituals, and memories. The artist is represented by the Nicholas Thompson Gallery https://www.instagram.com/nicholasthompsongallery/ in Melbourne.
