In March of this year, the United States was hit by a wave of “Stop Asian Hate” protests. These protests were sparked by a series of tragic racist crimes, specifically targeting members of the East and Southeast Asian community.
A Community Project is a new fundraising initiative to support the Stop Asian Hate movement. The online event, which ran through May 19, featured contributions from more than 70 Asian-identifying artists, designers and photographers, as well as Asian-owned businesses and brands. All proceeds from the donations were donated to the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF), an organization that provides legal services to Asian Americans, counseling to low-income individuals and new immigrants, and training students in public interest law. Here, we present some of the works owned by Community Project.
