In her last series « Take Care », Katie So, a visual artist from Vancouver, BC, depicts situations that can speak to all. In it, we can see different moments of life that elicit feelings of safety and comfort, reminding us of self-care. Katie So wanted to explore her struggles with mental health and have examined the idea of self-care. In one of the pieces, we can see someone under a blanket, watching something on a computer. As we can’t precisely see the facial features of that person, the viewer’s identification is made easier. The delicacy of colors and drawing strokes brings a poetic aspect to it. Here, Katie So brought a clever mix of seriousness with a touch of humor.
