If you were lucky enough to have the popular “window seat” on your last flight, you know how inspiring it is to see the landscape above the clouds…

Jim Darling was inspired by the view from the window to create a series of paintings with an original concept, each piece presenting different scenes from the point of view of a passenger. With “Windows”, the American artist reproduces the view of an airplane by depicting lush landscapes that he places in white frames.

“I got thinking about the window seat: how special it is and how it can be taken for granted. These expansive views can be very humbling. Everyone is fascinated by flight, and for now airplanes are how we get to experience it. At some point on each flight I’ve been on, I think about sitting in a chair in the sky, and it seems crazy every time.”
