In 45 seconds, Burger King‘s must-have Whopper, usually nicely displayed in the commercials, sags, shrivels and turns moldy in front of us. The image is certainly unappetizing, but aims to show consumers “the beauty of no artificial preservatives”, says the brand. The fast-food restaurant left a burger to rot for 35 days, before making a timelapse spot to show all its physical changes. “At Burger King restaurants, we believe that real food tastes better. That’s why we are working hard to remove preservatives, colors, and flavors from artificial sources from the food we serve in all countries around the world”, said Fernando Machado, the company’s chief marketing officer.
