The Bordeaux submarine base, inherited from the Second World War, will soon become “the largest digital art center in the world”. The private operator Culturespaces, which manages historic monuments and museums, took care of transforming the monumental building which covers 42,000 square meters and 20 meters in height, in what will now be called the Bassins de Lumières.

Combining sound and light, the space will offer immersive digital exhibitions projected on the walls of the four basins of the submarine base, dedicated to artists who have marked the history of classical and contemporary art.

Opening April 17, 2020 with a first exhibition dedicated to the work of Gustav Klimt.
