A Swedish teenager is creating waves among climate activists and neigh-sayers. Her name is Greta Thunberg and, by now, you have probably heard of her.

Argentinian artist, Andres Petreselli (also known as “Cobre”), took the liberty of painting a 60-foot-tall mural of the environmental activist in San Francisco. The work of art was unveiled on 12th November in downtown (on Mason Street near Union Square).

Greta gained a cult-like following after beginning what are now known as “Fridays for Future” climate strikes. At age 15, she spent her Fridays, when she was supposed to be in school, outside parliament buildings in her home country, pleading for attention to the climate and ecological crisis.

Cobre is known for his grand, realistic portraits and was contracted by a local non-profit to create the mural just over a year ago.
