Within the last ten years, Jacob Brostrup’s work has been part of the artistic landscape of semi-realistic painters in Denmark. In his works, he uses oil paint, applied in layers, after having previously traced a pencil drawing on the canvas. His colorful and vibrant work plunge the viewer into his universe and captivate him with the number of important details they present. Like a storyteller, Brostrup is motivated by the desire to tell a story in his paintings. And in front of them, the interpretation that the public can make is great as the works seem profound.
