The January 1st, 2018, Vaishali and Nayan have set themselves the challenge of making a paper miniature animal a day. Since then, the Indian-based couple of artists still continue this challenge and currently have 640 small sculptures. Each of their miniature is handmade and starts with a sketch, before going through several stages : cutting, watercolor painting, assembly … Each piece is made with precision and meticulousness, and requires between 4 to 6 hours working.

While the first year was more devoted to birds, Vaishali and Nayan have since expanded their work to include all animals. With their small sculptures, they first want to emphasize the beauty and importance of nature.

The miniatures of Vaishali and Nayan are also on Instagram.
