It is a childhood dream come true for designer Emily Oberman when in 2012 she was offered to create the new visual, graphic and typographic identity of the films derived from the Harry Potter saga, through a writing font… This one, unveiled during the promotional campaign of the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, was skilfully named Fontastic Beasts, Crimes New Roman. The team worked to create a visual identity complex and complete enough to survive the success of the second round of the wizard’s world. Each letter has therefore been drawn with a “clean” and a “hairy” version, but both versions are mixed up in the titles in order to keep a wide range of creativity in the future.
