Alexandra Kehayoglou creates stunning artworks that sublimates Argentinian landscapes very well known to the artist. Her intention is to reproduce huge rugs that represent some well known places in Argentina, such as the Santa Cruz river, which is horribly endangered by human activty. These minutious reproductions are a part of a great project which aims is to spread a message about ecology. All the materials come from the family laboratory of Kehayoglou family, who is specialized in this artisanal technique since six decades.
The Santa Cruz River artwork has been exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria Triennial in Melbourne.
