“Photographic Paintings” is the new photographies series by Fabian Oefner. Oefner likes to mix the codes. His artworks are therefore a virtuose mix of painting and photography. Watching at his works, you could think to be in front of an abstract painting. However, it is surprisingly photography. His process is absolutely hectic : in a saucepan, he heats bismuth (a kind of lead) and he then exposeS it to the light. This chemical reaction produces dazzling shades of colors. A very smart and forceful technique, entirely based on natural coincidences.
