Painted Identity is a ludic and anthropologic exercice led by illustrator Caroline Pera during her 3 months journey in an orphanage in Nepal, in the Valley of Kathmandu. There, she painted faces of 12 children, by asking them to finish the drawing and imagine their bodies with pure pigments of the colors of their choice. It’s funny to see how some children consider their own bodies : sometimes like some kind of a colorful and abstract puzzle-mess or like a big and strong athletic body. Psychologist Elena Orlandi has collaborated with the artist to interpret some symbols and compositions of these self-portraits.
