Today, oceans are polluted with millions of ton of plastic. Boyan Slat, has come up with a feasible solution to clean up the ocean’s garbage patches. Instead of going after the plastic using boats and nets, “The Ocean Cleanup” will use long floating barriers, using the natural movement of the ocean currents to passively concentrate the plastic itself enabling a platform to efficiently remove the plastic afterward.
