Stellar Axis : Antarctica is an installation of 99 blue balloons in the middle of the Antarctica, made by the artist Lita Albuquerque followed by James Turell, Christo, the astronaut Simon Balm and photographer Jean de Pomereu. They’ve wanted to create a “modern Stonehenge” and to reflect the constellations we can see there, at 12 noon, in the Summer Solstice. Each balloon has the size of the star it refers to.
