Unit+ Collective designed and built a « feature » beach hut which consists of an inner frame structure enveloped by a sliding shell which can be rolled out to form an awning. When closed and not in use the beach hut blends well with its neighbours. The unpainted slats on the sliding shell and the front and back of the inner structure create a seamless understated form. When opened, the contrast between the slats and the smooth painted ply makes the structure significantly more prominent.
