On the 9th floor of the “Haus des Reisens“ at Alexanderplatz, Berlin a space of 400 square meters has been created which challenges visionary minds to rethink. MADE is a creative lab, a meeting place, as well as a studio and a platform for workshops. International creative minds meet here to jointly give birth to interdisciplinary projects. The unforeseeable results are presented in regular exhibitions and documented on www.made-blog.com .
MADE is a platform, on which creatives can detach themselves from their familiar environment and be inspired by other disciplines to create novelties. Diverse genres intersect, e.g. the photographer meets the landscape architect and both work together with a geophysicist. New teams evolve that have never worked together in such way, they inspire each other in the creative process and they realize a mutual vision. The outcomes from this new form of collaboration are unpredictable exhibits, which catch off guard.
The MADE team curates the platform. The artist tadiROCK is the originator and the engine of MADE. Along with her team Nico Zeh, Philip Gaedicke and Luise Biesalski she assembles different people for one concept, accompanies and composes the interplay of creatives from diverging areas. The project teams are supplied with space and support for the realization of their exceptional visions. These lighthouse projects take place up to four times a year. On a non-regular basis MADE also offers a platform to spontaneous, already existing projects. The various works are presented to the public at vernissages and exhibitions.
Therefore, MADE is a studio, a platform for workshops and exhibition space all in one. And just like the teams that work there, it is not a static place, but rather allows to rethink, to shift and to reposition. Every visit is a new spatial experience, because neither light nor furnishings are arranged in the same way. The versatile interior lies beneath a grid of light sources affixed at the ceiling, whose color and brightness can be altered depending on the room program.
The blog www.made-blog.com is the mouthpiece of the new Berlin institution. The development process of the different projects is documented; the participating artists talk about creative challenges and new experiences. Vernissages, exhibitions and spontaneous projects are announced here.
