Zara Picken is an illustrator based in the North East of England. She has recently created a series of illustrations inspired by Irish mythology.
The artwork is based on the W. B. Yeats book ‘Fairy and Folk Tales of the Irish Peasantry’. The stories are conveyed in a graphic contemporary style, bringing the traditional tales to a new international audience.
The illustrations were created digitally, with techniques developed through experiences of screen printing.
