The InfiniTea concept was created with the design direction coming from Jason Valalik and Jae Lee doing the hands-on industrial design. The concept came after Jason purchased the Sorapot by Joey Roth. The design was beautiful, but the tea making process still seemed broken. The great thing about the Sorapot was that it allowed the user to view the steeping of tea in all of its beauty. However, this was a two step process. This is the case for all of the tea making solutions that are out there.
They either required the user to boil the water and then pour it into another object to steep or have an enclosed container of tea drop into the water to steep. Neither were a great user experience. Jason took this as a challenge and knew there had to be a better way. So Jason thought of how this could be done and the original concept was to just have a pin go through the teapot and have the loose tea between two mesh pieces of metal. When the user pulled the pin a Jason and Jae spent over a year on this concept and are about 95% of the way there to move it into production. Sadly, it’s currently shelved due to other priorities and lack of funding to move forward. Thanks Jason Valalik
