Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki has brought its iconic tile mural back to its former glory following a $4.25 million restoration project. The two-sided Rainbow Mural was the world’s tallest mosaic when it was first revealed in 1968.
The new mural is made up of more than 31,000 bespoke tiles from UK-based manufacturer Johnson Tiles, and is an exact replica of the original work designed by renowned artist Millard Sheets.
