Köckritzdörrich produces a corporate publishing showcase for the iPad®
· Premium magazine content
· Completely new depth of experience
· No unnecessary gimmicks
With ‘adeyaka’, the brand magazine of the Japanese premium car manufacturer Infiniti, German Reutlingen-based agency köckritzdörrich has presented a global first in the form of a corporate publishing application (app), that was exclusively developed and produced for the iPad®. The ‘adeyaka’ app is neither a straight adaptation of the multi award-winning print magazine – like a PDF – nor is it just techno-glitz without content. While its structure and contents have the definite character of a magazine as such, this ‘adeyaka’ app leverages the full technical possibilities of the iPad®. The key objective of köckritzdörrich was to communicate the brand story of Infiniti in a way that went into even greater depth, was more gripping and was much more emotive.
“With this new digital ‘adeyaka’, we shall appeal to the senses of our readers, which means not just their eyes, but also their ears and indeed even their hands”, says Berthold Dörrich, Managing Director of köckritzdörrich. “Topics that are related to cars, lifestyle and luxury feature an emotional aspect by default, and this is where the capabilities of the Apple tablet computer uses text, audio, video and revolutionary multi-touch operation to transcend the classic print medium in every respect. This is why we do not intend to adapt just print content alone for the iPad®.”
“The iPad version of ‘adeyaka’ provided us with fully different creative challenges. On the one hand, we wanted to maintain the graphical character of the print edition, yet consistently use the new media capabilities offered. It turned out be a learning curve that was steep, but swift – and above all highly successful”, says Lutz Suendermann, the Creative Director ofthe project.
The unusually-comprehensive multimedia applications of ‘adeyaka’ include an interactive “title page”, and connection to selected websites that can be performed without leaving the app. There are also diverse animations and a large number of animations that can all be turned through 360 degrees.
The iPad ‘adeyaka’ realised by köckritzdörrich does not just offer the possibility of multimedia applications but also journalistically-prepared magazine content – and that over 170 “pages”. In total, the newly-developed electronic ‘adeyaka’ provides exciting added value in terms of reader interaction compared with the existing print edition and right now can be seen as a truly showcase product within the corporate publishing sector.
The ‘adeyaka’ app is available worldwide for immediate download at no charge from the iTunes Store and without any time restrictions.
