Mao & Piu are imaginary creatures, who seek calm and peaceful life. During the day, this non-animated character stands as a modern sculpture absorbing sunlight. At night, when the light is on, it reveals its delicate surface, gleaming like a moon. The lighting shade is made of mulberry paper with home-made natural flour glue, and finished with animal gelatine. Mao & Piu has been nominated for Jury Selection, DMY International Design Festival, Berlin.
