Tenka Gammelgaard, who was born in 1960, graduated from the Danish Design Academy in 1985 and since then, she has had a number of solo exhibitions in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and France.
Tenka Gammegaard’s works are exquisite tributes to the renowned Danish writer, farmer and baroness Karen Blixen, whose life was portrayed in the Hollywood film « Out of Africa ». Blixen’s fabulous pieces of literature are quoted on Tenka Gammelgaard’s beautiful and minimalistic canvases.
The paintings depict white and black nuances interrupted by simple gold or silver plated shapes.
