Playdead was commissioned by BBC Scotland to produce a graphics package for a 3 x 1 hr series, Planet Oil.
The team took the title literally and tried to capture oil’s unique properties, it’s rich viscosity and iridescence, and bring this to the screen. The commission required a number of different elements so continuity and balance was key.
The finished sequences show elegant and timeless graphics, well executed, with a high level of finish.
