« Noir » is an enigmatic series of photographs by Johannes Franke/Bildbeute. As a master of light and atmosphere he uses strong shadows and contrasts to create a setting directly from the world of Film Noir. The observer’s thoughts are immediately devoured by an only indicated story filled with a subtle brutality and mystery, staggering somewhere between beauty and disquiet. The style of the series reminds of Helmut Newton and Alfred Hitchcock.
