‘Intersection’ revisits the works of the 17th century Dutch Masters using period props, food and real insects including butterflies that James breeds himself. Each staged underwater scene is created with subtle distortions of light & movement from the waters own wave energy to create a unique and painterly effect. Pieces from ‘Glass’ and ‘Swarm’ are also featured. The subtle yet pervading presence of water in these works symbolises the power that water has both to give life and to take it away.
