The European Freeski Open in LAAX, Switzerland, the most prestigious freeski event in the Alps, could unfortunately not crown the new halfpipe and slopestyle champions 2010. Due to the weather conditions up on Crap Sogn Gion mountain (2220 m) the halfpipe and slopestyle contest had to be cancelled. The strong winds would not allow for the running of a safe competition as the risk of an accident for one of the 48 men and 12 women was too high. The world’s top riders as well as the qualified amateur skiers, who were here to compete in the 5th edition of the European Freeski Open in LAAX, fully agreed with the decision of the organizer and will return in 2011.
